Self Care is a Serious Matter

You might be thinking that “This is my life! I can do what I want with my body!” Well, you’re wrong. Your body is a vessel that given to us to take care for as long as we live. Without our body today, we cannot do the things we want to do. If we don’t take good care of it, we won’t be alive or living life!

I believe that in order for you to take care of others you must be able to take care of yourself.

In this post, I will share to you some simple tips to take care of yourself

Drink H20!! - We always hear this - “Drink 8-10 glass of water every day.” But are we doing it right? With our busy schedules and life obligations, this is one of the most neglected things to do by a man. Keeping yourself hydrated throughout the day can keep you healthy.

If you missed drinking water then there are plenty of ways for you to remember doing it. There are apps now that can remind you to drink water at certain times of the day.

Get some rest - Not all of us have the same sleeping behavior, but I believe in deep sleep. You need to indulge yourself in sleeping when you feel like it because your body knows when it needs to recharge. Sleep is really important in one’s well being.

Eat in moderation - As we grow older our body needs changes. We no longer need super sweet chocolates or eat barbeque all the time because our body changes. Our body needed nutrients that it can burn. So in order to provide our body with what it needs, we must eat healthy, eat in moderation as much as possible so we can prevent cholesterol and other diseases.

Take a break - I believe in the saying “All work and no play, makes a dull man.” It’s true that if you don't allow yourself to relax or take a break even just for 10 mins. Your body will just stop functioning well. You’ll be burnt out and eventually, you’ll be demotivated to get things done. Schedule your breaks. Have time for yourself to breath and clear your mind.

Read self-help booksBelieve me, you can learn a lot of things from people who have been in the same shoes as you are in the past. Allow yourself to be inspired and motivated. Reading self-help books can help you know your purpose and may give you a good sense of direction in life.

Spend time with the people that matter!

You’re not alone! Remember that! With our busy lives ahead of us, we often forget the people that matter in our life. They are the people that help us along the way and you need to reconnect with them. Spend time with them and open up to them.
